Replacement farmhouse near burford
This replacement dwelling has just received planning consent after lengthy planning 'negotiations'. The design is based on a group of traditional 'converted' barns that have been joined together using glass links. The dwelling replaces a mediocre 1980's house but is set set in many acres of land with wide ranging views over the West Oxfordshire countryside shown in the background image.
The open glazed gables of the 'barns' allow these views and provide solar gain in the winter with the sun being sheltered in the summer by the overhangs.
Eastabrook Architects have been appointed to prepare the technical drawings and construction should start in a couple of months.
