Replacement farmhouse near burford

Hide project details

This replacement dwelling received planning consent after lengthy planning 'negotiations'. The design was based on a group of traditional 'converted' barns that had been joined together using glass links. The dwelling replaces a mediocre 1980's house and is set set in many acres of land with wide ranging views over the West Oxfordshire countryside shown in the background image.

The open glazed gables of the 'barns' allow these views and provide solar gain in the winter with the sun being sheltered in the summer by the overhangs.
